ScriptoriumGM Is Live: Early Access Opens Today!

After months of late nights and countless cups of coffee, we're thrilled to open ScriptoriumGM's doors for early access. Built by a GM who understands the Sunday night prep panic, this is the tool I wished existed years ago.

Grand medieval scriptorium doors opening with warm golden light and magical energy pouring out, revealing campaign tools and glowing manuscripts within
The doors to ScriptoriumGM are officially open - welcome home

It's 11 PM on Sunday. Session's tomorrow at 8PM. You've got approximately twelve tabs open, a half-finished Google Doc, three different PDFs you're ctrl+F-ing through, and that sinking feeling that you've forgotten something important from three sessions ago.

Sound familiar? That's exactly why I built ScriptoriumGM.

Today, September 1st, 2025, we're opening our doors for early access. And here's the best part: there's a free tier. No credit card required. No "free trial that secretly charges you in 14 days" nonsense. Just tools that actually help you run better games.

What's Different About ScriptoriumGM?

Remember the last time you asked ChatGPT for help with your campaign and got something so generic it was useless? "The mysterious stranger in the tavern has information about your quest." Thanks, super helpful for my steampunk western where taverns don't exist.

Here's what makes ScriptoriumGM different: it actually knows YOUR world.

Your Campaign, Your Rules

Upload your campaign notes, that 200-page homebrew document you're proud of, the player backstories, even those Obsidian notes from session zero. Our AI assistant doesn't just generate content - it generates content that fits YOUR campaign.

Need a corrupt merchant for your grimdark plague city? You'll get one with motivations tied to your world's black market healing potion trade, not some generic "greedy merchant Grogbert."

Features Available Today in Early Access

πŸ§™ AI-Powered Campaign Assistant That Gets It

  • Knows your NPCs by name and remembers their complicated relationship drama
  • Generates location descriptions that match your world's tone and lore
  • Helps when players inevitably go off-script (and makes it feel planned)
  • Conversation history so you never lose that brilliant plot twist you came up with at 2 AM

πŸ“š Campaign Management That Actually Works

  • Find that NPC you created six months ago in seconds
  • Upload maps, handouts, and reference materials without the cloud storage dance
  • Rich text editor that's better than a Google Doc for organizing your chaos
  • Multiple campaigns without mixing up which dragon belongs to which world

🎲 Multi-System Support

  • D&D 5e? Covered.
  • Pathfinder? Got you.
  • That indie system only twelve people have heard of? Upload the rules, we'll figure it out.
  • Your beautiful homebrew frankenstein creation? We don't judge.

πŸ’‘ Smart Context & Memory

  • RAG-powered knowledge base (fancy way of saying "it remembers everything")
  • Upload PDFs, Word Docs, even your terrible handwriting (okay, maybe not that last one)
  • Assistant references YOUR materials, not generic fantasy tropes

The Money Talk (Spoiler: There's a Free Tier)

Let's address the dragon in the room: pricing.

Free Tier:

  • Full campaign management features
  • Document editor and storage
  • AI assistant (with monthly usage limits)
  • Support for multiple campaigns
  • No time limits, no "trial period" - it's actually free

Patreon Supporters ($10-30/month):

  • Massively increased AI usage limits
  • Early access to new features
  • Discord community roles
  • Direct input on feature development
  • My eternal gratitude and possibly naming an NPC after you

The free tier isn't some crippled demo. It's a fully functional tool that respects both your time and your wallet. Patreon support helps keep the servers running and lets me keep improving the tool, but it's absolutely not required to get value from ScriptoriumGM.

Why Early Access?

I could pretend it's all about "gathering valuable user feedback" (though that's true), but let's be honest: I'm one developer who wanted to get this into the hands of GMs who need it NOW, not after another six months of perfectionism or fundraising for months.

Early access means:

  • You get the tool today, not "coming soonβ„’"
  • We're rolling out access gradually to ensure stability
  • Your feedback directly shapes what we build next
  • You're part of the founding community (bragging rights included)

The Waiting List (It's Worth It)

We're using a waiting list to manage the rollout. Not to create false scarcity or because we think we're that special, but because I want to make sure everyone who joins has a great experience. Nothing kills enthusiasm faster than a crashed server during your session prep.

When you sign up:

  1. You join the waiting list immediately
  2. We're activating accounts in batches throughout September
  3. You'll get an email when it's your turn (check your spam folder!)
  4. Once activated, you're in forever - no re-queuing nonsense

What Happens Next?

For New Users:

Head to scriptoriumgm.com/login/signup and join the early access list. You'll be running better sessions before you know it.

For Existing Waitlist Members:

Check your email - we're sending out activation waves starting today. Your patience is about to pay off.

For Everyone:

Join our Discord community where GMs are already sharing tips, discussing features, and occasionally commiserating about players who seduce dragons.

Real Talk: This Is Just the Beginning

ScriptoriumGM today is already the tool I wished I had five years ago. But we're just getting started. Upcoming feature ideas include:

  • Collaborative campaign sharing with players
  • Advanced NPC relationship mapping
  • Initiative tracking and combat management
  • Player-accessible handouts and notes
  • Mobile app for those "did I really say that?" session arguments

Your early access isn't just about using the tool - it's about shaping what it becomes.

A Personal Note

I know loads of GMs whose main hobby is Tabletop Gaming. They love GMing, but between work, life, and the endless prep, they're all ready to hang up the dice. I built ScriptoriumGM because I couldn't find a tool that understood the real problem: it's not that GMs can't prep, it's that we don't have TIME to prep the way we want to.

This tool is built for GM who are in the trenches, for GMs who are still fighting the good fight. It's not perfect (what first session ever is?), but it's real, it's here, and it's ready to help you run the games you've always wanted to run.

Ready to Reclaim Your Sundays?

Welcome to ScriptoriumGM. Let's roll for initiative.

P.S. - To everyone who's been on the waiting list, sharing feedback, and spreading the word: thank you. This wouldn't exist without you. The first round at the tavern is on me. (The virtual tavern. In the app. You know what I mean.)
